The award is based on customer reviews and nominations, along with evaluations of products and services by The Knot experts.

“We are thrilled about this and would like to thank all of our amazing brides and grooms for the nomination. We will continue to do our best to make every bride and groom happy—whether we design a custom piece for them or they choose from our vast inventory,” the team shared.
Shors Recognized for Outstanding Service to Community
Sophie & Roman Shor Recognized for Service to Hunterdon Community by Senator Leonard Lance
On Saturday, May 8, 2010, the Hunterdon County YMCA hosted its 20th Annual Recognition Dinner at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, honoring Roman and Sophie Shor, founders of Roman Jewelers, for their outstanding service to the community. Congressman Leonard Lance was in attendance and presented the couple with a congressional award.
Through this event, the YMCA raised over $105,000 for its financial assistance program, setting a new record. This program allows individuals facing economic and social challenges to participate in YMCA programs and services, including summer camp, childcare, and health and wellness activities.
The funds raised through the Annual Recognition Dinner will help local children attend camp, participate in sports, and receive childcare provided by the YMCA.
In addition to the YMCA, the Shors are active supporters of the Hunterdon Medical Center, Safe in Hunterdon, and the local police and fire departments. They also maintain a special commitment to school children and seniors, regularly assisting through donations and educational seminars.
Most recently, the Shors have lent their energies and talents to the event "The Roman Jewelers Wedding", designed to encourage volunteerism and philanthropy in young adults. Last year’s premiere event proved to be a wonderful way to inspire commitment and awareness in a younger generation, raising over $100,000 for various local and national charities.

TURNING OLD TREASURES INTO MEANINGFUL GIFTS
Restoring Old Family Jewels for the Holidays: Flemington Jewelry Store Turning Old Treasures into Meaningful Gifts
(November 29, 2006, Flemington, NJ) Finding the perfect gift this holiday season may be no further than a peek into your jewelry box. Maybe you have an old heirloom piece of jewelry that was passed down from a relative that is awaiting new life. Roman Jewelers in Flemington is turning sentimental pieces from the past into beautiful, meaningful treasures through custom redesign.
Jess Gebauer, a Bench Jeweler at Roman Jewelers, lost her grandmother when she was in the second grade. When she was given her engagement ring, she knew she wanted to wear it on that special day when her 'now-husband' asked her to marry him. "The ring meant so much to me. I wore the original for quite some time, but then decided I wanted to make it my own and still have the grandmother I loved so much to be a part of it." She removed the original stones and custom designed a new setting to make the ring her own. "Every time I look at my ring, it makes me feel so good because I turned it into something that I love so much, and yet, I know that my grandmother is such a part of it. It is so sentimental and meaningful to me."
Gebauer wasn't finished. She then took the original setting and reset it with a sapphire in the middle and two diamonds on the side and gave it to her mother for her 51st birthday. "I was able to give this ring that meant so much to all of us two new lives. Now, my mom can pass hers on to her grandchildren and I can do the same."
Many more people are opting to do the same. Recently widowed, Sandy Heimberg of Branchburg had her engagement ring redesigned, "My ring meant so much to me because of all the memories I had with my husband Jeff, but I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with it once I lost him. I sat with a designer who completely changed its look, but kept the original stone. It's not only beautiful, but it allows me to have my husband with me every day." Heimberg also had a tie tack that was her husband’s grandfather's turned into a unique pendant which she now wears around her neck. "I know if Jeff were here to see these beautiful pieces of jewelry, he would be so proud because they are not only amazing to look at, but they are so meaningful."

SOPHIE SHOR ELECTED TO BOARD OF HMC TRUSTEES
Hunterdon County Jeweler Elected to Board of Trustees for Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation
(July 25, 2006, Flemington, NJ)
She has spent years of her professional life giving back to her community, especially in healthcare. Now Sophie Shor, Vice President of Roman Jewelers, is continuing her passion in an official capacity. Shor has been elected as a new member of the Board of Trustees for the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation.
Shor says it has long been her aspiration to promote a healthy lifestyle for the citizens of Hunterdon County and surrounding towns. “While working on fundraising projects for the Hunterdon Medical Center, I have become acutely aware of the healthcare needs of our county. I have had the privilege of supporting initiatives in the areas of women’s heart health, breast cancer, and maternity facilities. I am extremely appreciative of the opportunity to work with the other members of the Board of Trustees on healthcare and illness prevention programs for our community.”
As Chair of the Foundation's Crystal Ball Committee last year, Shor helped raise $225,000 for Hunterdon Medical Center. Roman Jewelers donated a cardiac monitor for special-needs newborns at the hospital and has held special fundraising sales at its Flemington store for the sole purpose of purchasing equipment for Hunterdon Medical Center.
When deciding on a new Board member, G. Meredith Betz, Executive Vice President of the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation, said Shor was the perfect choice. “Sophie has such strong leadership and marketing skills, which we have seen time and again not only through successful fundraising events but through her own business. She is an ambassador for this hospital everywhere she goes and is always looking for the next thing she can do to help those who need and use our services. Her kind nature and selfless spirit encompass everything this foundation stands for.”
