New Sparkle for Diamond Studs
Diamond studs never go out of style. But, if you would like to add a very special sparkle to your diamond stud earrings, you can have a circular "jacket" made to surround each diamond with a circle of either pavé or smaller prong-set diamonds. Thiswill allow you toadd even moreimpact to your beautiful stones on special occasions. Another way to customize your diamond studs is to put them into a bezel setting that also has a circle of diamonds or other gemstones like sapphires or rubies.
The Test of Time
My favorite dress is aclassic black cocktail dress for special occasions. My everyday favorite outfit is atimeless cashmere twin set. I love both because this type ofclothing is versatile and easy to dress up or down, depending on the occasion. For the ultimate in versatility, however, we look to jewelry to give our clothes a completely different look. Just put on a diamond necklace, and your basic cashmere twin set sparkles too, and you are ready for a night out. Add polish to a denim outfit by wearing a distinctive gold necklace and a pair of gold earrings. A pearl necklace adds elegance to a silk or cashmere dress, and even a business suit. Classic jewelry, justlike a little black dress, will withstand the test of time.
Buyer Beware!
I’ve been thinking—what makes people believe that spending $399 on a three-carat diamond tennis bracelet is a good deal? Why do consumers carefully study reports to understand the quality of a vacuum cleaner, yet fail to take the time to learn about diamonds before making such an important purchase?
Last Christmas, a young man stopped by my store and asked me to clean a new bracelet he had purchased for his wife from a department store. He mentioned that the price was so attractive he couldn’t resist buying it.
Of course, I cleaned the bracelet—but it still didn’t sparkle. He asked me to leave it in the ultrasonic cleaner for a few more minutes. I did, yet the bracelet looked no better.
I explained to him that diamond quality is what truly determines brilliance and sparkle.
So, is spending $399 on a three-carat diamond tennis bracelet really a good deal?
Buyer beware!
3-Carat Cushion Cut Diamond From Kevin Jonas
Kevin Jonas, the eldest member of the hit music group The Jonas Brothers, is now officially engaged. He proposed to his girlfriend, Danielle Deleasa, last week with a one-of-a-kind platinum ring. The 21-year-old pop star, currently touring in Canada, reportedly took an impromptu flight back home to New Jersey, surprising Deleasa at her home. The hefty ring features a 3-carat cushion-cut diamond surrounded by 210 round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing in at 0.72 carats.
Hoop Earrings - Here to Stay
Speaking about classics - hoop earringsmake a truly glamorous classicfashion statement. And celebrities are not shy about spotlighting their hoops with every step they make along the red carpet. At the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards last night in Los Angeles, actresses including Angelina Jolie, Christina Applegate and Jane Krakowski all wore hoops ranging from dramatic 22-Karat yellow gold hoops with ruby accentsandheavy diamond drop-style hoops tomore modest diamond studded styles. No matter where the fashion world takes us, hoops are here to stay. Whether simple gold hoops or inside-out hoops with diamonds all the way around, hoop earrings are versatile enough to be worn with any almost any outfit for any occasion. My personal favorites are white gold, sparkling diamond hoops from Roberto Coin.

Micro-Pave' Beauties
You all heard of pave' setting, a technique in whichsmall diamonds are set close to each other into metal, creating a look of a "shiny river of diamonds". Today's jewelers and designers use a new technique called micro-pave'. In that technique, much smallerdiamonds that the ones used in a pave' settingare set so close to each other that you can hardly see any metal in-between the diamonds at all. The effect is simply stunning, but this style is very labor-intensive. Just think ofall these tiny diamonds being set directly into themetal. It's hard, but thefinal result is worth it!
Three-Stone Ring - Here to stay?
Are the three-stone rings here to stay? I am sure the answer is "Yes". The classic ring with three diamonds (One center-stone flanked by two, usually smaller diamonds, on each side) makes a perfect anniversary band. The ringis a symbol of past, present, and future. It is exactly what every woman is looking for, because the ring alsosymbolizes love, friendship, and fidelity. This classic is here to stay.
Bring the Bling on!
Watch out for this trend—though it’s not as new as you might think. Combining jeans with sparkling gems is something we women do almost instinctively.
Gems and sparkling crystals are everywhere: on purses, T-shirts, and even jeans. Let the jewelry on the model inspire you. Put it on and wear it with pride and joy.
Layer your jewelry, add gems to your bag straps, stack bangles, and create a bold, fashion-forward look.
Enjoy!
