How to Style Lagos Jewelry for Everyday Wear?
When it comes to Lagos Fine Jewelry, one of the biggest reasons it is so loved is because it can be worn in so many different ways! Lagos designer jewelry for women offers versatility that seamlessly transitions from daytime to evening.
4 helpful tips to style your Lagos jewelry collection every day:
1. Mixed Metal Stacking with Lagos Diamond Bracelets
One of the easiest ways to showcase your love of Lagos jewelry is through layering. You can combine your sterling silver Caviar bracelets with Lagos diamond bracelets or even experiment with combining silver and gold.
2. Dressing Up Casual Wear
A basic blouse and denim will become instantly more sophisticated with a pair of Lagos diamond stud earrings or a sleek Caviar necklace.
3. Create Layered Luxury Necklaces
For the perfect blended look, wear a shorter Caviar chain and a longer pendant. This blended look should feel both relaxed and elevated.
4. Own Your Unique Look
Many collectors enjoy creating their own wardrobe of personal jewelry using the Lagos collections they love most. Wearing multiple pieces from the same collection will lend itself to a cohesive, polished appearance.
How to Verify Authentic Lagos Jewelry?
Given the widespread admiration for Lagos Fine Jewelry, it's crucial to authenticate your pieces when buying or collecting the brand. Shopping with a trusted jeweler ensures that every piece reflects the quality and craftsmanship Lagos is known for.
Here are 4 ways to confirm Lagos authenticity:
1. Look for the Lagos Hallmark:
Real Lagos items will usually have this stamped logo/hallmark (which defines the manufacturer) somewhere on the piece, for example, inside of rings, on the clasps of bracelets, or at/near the closure of necklaces.
2. Check Metal Purity Marks:
Most items will also contain purity stamps; for instance, "925" means sterling silver, and "750" means 18K gold. These marks will inform you the metals are of high quality; therefore, only genuine Lagos Fine Jewelry will have these marks on the individual pieces.
3. Check Caviar Texture
The signature Caviar beading should be uniformly spaced and smoothly finished; however, even the best of manufacturers try to ensure that their products have maximum detail level and a high-quality finish and to indicate their dedication to craftsmanship.
4. Purchase From An Authorized Retailer:
You can buy with utmost confidence when making purchases through an endorsed dealer. All Lagos Fine Jewelry sold by Roman Jewelers has been pre-screened for authenticity and supplied directly by those authorized to do so, ensuring you have peace of mind when purchasing fine products such as Lagos Diamond Bracelets, designer-style necklaces, and timeless hoop earrings.

Creating the Impossible: How CAD and 3D Printing Expand the Boundaries of Jewelry Design
What if you could dream up a custom piece of jewelry today and hold it in your hands tomorrow—no magic genie required? What if I told you the future of jewelry design is digital, and it's spectacular? The question we are setting out to answer is, how Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing are revolutionizing the jewelry industry faster than you can say “Diamonds are forever.” Or should we now say, "Diamond designs are just a click away"? And we mean jewelry design in general, and not only with diamonds.Let's explore CAD jewelry creation with the help of CAD.
Traditional Jewelry MakingLet's take a stroll down memory lane. Picture this: a smoky workshop filled with the scent of molten metal, artisans hunched over intricate pieces, painstakingly bending and shaping the material. You’d find jewelers working like sculptors, carving intricate pieces of jewelry from a wax block. The traditional method often included techniques like casting, molding, and good old-fashioned hammer-and-chisel craftsmanship. It was a labor of love, emphasis on the "labor." In traditional jewelry making, a a hand-carved wax model often serves as the starting point, which is then used for casting the precious metal. All in all, it was, and still is, an incredibly intricate process.Sure, these age-old methods have an undeniable romantic appeal. But here’s the reality check: these traditional methods were slow, required the mastery of complex skills, and left little room for error. Imagine working for days on a piece, only to discover that it looks less like a "masterpiece" and more like "modern art gone wrong." Yeah, not fun. And let’s not even talk about scaling up production; it’s like asking a snail to compete in a sprint.CAD and 3D printing have revolutionized the jewelry industry, bringing a new vision to the craftsmanship and design possibilities. The Advent of CAD and 3D PrintingEnter CAD and 3D printing, stage right, with a Broadway-level entrance that’s hard to ignore. This isn’t just a flashy newcomer; it’s a game-changing revolution! But when did CAD and 3D printing first decide to join the jewelry party? Well, CAD has been around in other industries since at least the 1960s. It took a while for this technology to get glammed up and mingle with the diamonds and sapphires, but when it did—oh boy, it was a match made in heaven.3D printing, the younger sibling, also made its grand entrance, initially to create prototypes but soon proving it could be the star of the show. With these technologies, designs could be created and altered digitally, prototypes could be printed in a jiffy, and intricate designs could be executed with the precision of a surgeon. It’s as if the jewelry industry got a technological facelift, and let me tell you, it’s looking fabulous.Today, CAD and 3D printing don't just occupy a niche corner of the jewelry world. They’re front and center, taking the lead role in a performance that’s still unfolding. And we couldn't be more excited to see what the next act brings! What is CAD?Okay, folks, gather around. It's story time! Once upon a time, jewelers used to sketch out their designs on paper. Yes, you heard me, paper—made from trees and everything! Fast-forward to today, and we’ve got CAD, or Computer-Aided Design, that makes those paper sketches look like kindergarten doodles. CAD lets you create a 3D model of your jewelry design on a computer. The software is so intuitive that if it were any smarter, it’d make your morning coffee and walk your dog. Here’s the 411: With CAD, you get to mess around with different shapes, sizes, and configurations until you hit the jackpot. Need to rotate that model to get a 360-degree view? Done. Want to zoom in so close you can see the digital sparkle? Absolutely. It’s like a video game, but instead of slaying dragons, you're creating wearable art. The real beauty of CAD is its accuracy and precision. You can tweak your designs down to a fraction of a millimeter. Yeah, that’s right, a fraction of a millimeter. Eat your heart out, traditional methods! What is 3D Printing?Hold onto your gemstone-encrusted hats, because if CAD was the appetizer, 3D printing is the main course with dessert rolled into one. Imagine you’ve created this stunning design using CAD. Now what? Do you hand it over to an artisan and wait patiently while they chisel away? Nope! You send that file to a 3D printer, and voila, you’ve got a prototype—or even the final piece—ready for being cast in any metal. ”But wait, there’s more! There are different flavors of 3D printing to savor. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) works by layering material on top of material. It's like making a multi-tiered cake, but less edible and more valuable. Stereolithography (SLA) uses a laser to cure a liquid resin into the desired shape. Think of it as the sorcery of jewelry making. Digital Light Processing (DLP) is another technique that’s similar to SLA but uses a digital light projector screen instead of a laser. It’s the 3D printer’s way of saying, “Let there be light—and then, let there be jewelry!”In all these methods, the printer translates your digital design into a physical object by adding layer upon layer of material. It’s like building a sandcastle one grain at a time, but a lot faster and minus the sunburn. For jewelry designers, CAD and 3D printing have become invaluable tools, making the design process not only more efficient but also more precise. How CAD and 3D Printing Expand Design PossibilitiesIntricate DesignsLet's get one thing straight: intricate designs in jewelry are like the frosting on a cake. Sure, you could eat the cake plain, but why would you when you can have delicious, ornate swirls of buttercream? That’s where CAD comes in, providing jewelers the digital tools to create incredibly detailed designs without resorting to arcane rituals or chants to the Jewelry Gods. You can include spirals, loops, filigrees, and engravings that look like they were crafted by a miniature Michelangelo with the steadiness of a neurosurgeon. In the pre-digital era, attempting to handcraft these details was a venture into dangerous territory. One false move, and your beautiful piece could end up looking like it got hit by a truck. With CAD and 3D printing, even the most intricate of designs can be produced consistently, and without the need for an emergency rescue operation.CAD software allows for unparalleled precision, opening the doors for jewelers to create any unique design with intricate details that were nearly impossible to achieve by hand. Imagine not having to go through multiple iterations and adjustments just to get the center stone perfectly placed; with 3D printing, what you see on screen is what you get in real life.CustomizationIf you've ever played with building blocks as a kid (or as an adult, we're not judging), you know the joy of creating something uniquely yours. Customization in jewelry is basically the grown-up, glitzy version of that. Forget about flipping through a catalog of designs that you can only dream of altering. CAD and 3D printing are the superheroes of customization, swooping in to rescue you from the jaws of mass-produced monotony. And with an online design tool which many jewelers offer as a service, you can tweak and visualize every aspect of your dream ring before sending it off to the 3D printers. It doesn't get much easier than that! The advent of CAD and 3D printing technologies means you're no longer limited to what you find in store showcases; you can actually design your own ring down to the tiniest detail. In a market saturated with similar-looking engagement rings, for example, CAD and 3D printing offer the refreshing opportunity to design a unique, one-of-a-kind engagement ring.Whether you’re a hopeless romantic looking to incorporate initials and birthstones into a necklace or a trendsetter keen to make a unique statement, the sky is no longer the limit—it’s just the beginning. You can change gemstone placements, tweak the thickness of the band, or even create asymmetrical designs that would make Salvador Dalí tip his melting clock in approval.Gone are the days when engagement rings came in a few cookie-cutter designs; thanks to CAD and 3D printing, couples can now create rings that are as unique as their love stories.Iteration and PrototypingRemember etch-a-sketches? You’d twist and turn those knobs, but if you messed up? Tough luck! CAD and 3D printing, on the other hand, are the epitome of forgiveness and second chances. Got a design that's almost perfect, but not quite? No need to start from scratch, pulling your hair out in frustration. With a few clicks and adjustments, you can iterate as many times as you need. And when it comes to prototyping, 3D printing offers you the joy of holding a physical model of your design without waiting weeks for it. With rapid prototyping, you can have a prototype in your hands faster than you can binge-watch the latest season of your favorite show. That means you can examine it, show it off, and—most importantly—make any necessary tweaks before the final production.Lowering the Barriers to EntrySo, you've always wanted to launch your own jewelry line but thought you needed Scrooge McDuck levels of capital? Well, say hello to CAD and 3D printing, the ultimate financial wingmen in the jewelry industry. These technologies lower the barriers to entry by reducing the upfront costs associated with prototyping and production. Gone are the days when you needed to own a gold mine or be best buddies with a diamond dealer to get started.Imagine not having to invest in expensive molds or hiring a small army of skilled artisans just to test a new design. With CAD and 3D printing, your startup budget can breathe easy. You could literally start a jewelry business from your garage—just don't forget to move the car out first.Speeding Up ProductionIn the jewelry world, speed is not about racing through the design process like a caffeinated squirrel. However, efficiency is gold (pun intended). Traditional jewelry making can be as slow as molasses going uphill in January. CAD and 3D printing are like that rabbit in the race against the turtle—fast and accurate. What does that mean for your bottom line? Well, quicker production times allow you to create more pieces and cater to more customers. Sticking with the example of rings, not only do these technologies make customized engagement rings more accessible, but they also speed up the production time, ensuring you're not waiting an eternity to pop the question. It’s Economics 101, but with more sparkles.Bottom Line: because 3D printers can produce speedy prototypes, designers and buyers may cooperate more efficiently, revising designs before final products are manufactured.Sustainability and Waste ReductionWe're all trying to be more eco-friendly these days, right? Well, guess what? CAD and 3D printing are basically the Captain Planets of the jewelry industry. These technologies are designed to use only the amount of material needed, reducing waste and making Mother Earth give you a nod of approval. It's not just about using fewer raw materials; it's also about cutting down on energy consumption and pollution. In traditional methods, waste can be considerable, especially when dealing with precious metals and gems. With 3D printing, you can sleep easier knowing you're not turning the planet into a dumpster while crafting your treasures. The savings on precious metal waste during the prototype phase alone make CAD and 3D printing economically beneficial for established brands and individual jewelers. The Future of Jewelry Design with CAD/3D PrintingThe future is looking brighter than a cubic zirconia under a spotlight. We're talking AI-driven designs, greater personalization, and maybe even AR (augmented reality)/VR (virtual reality) try-on features. Will there be 3D-printed jewelry on Mars? Who knows, but we're ready to push the boundaries of impossible! The blending of traditional jewelry craftsmanship with CAD and 3D printing technology is as harmonious as peanut butter and jelly. It’s expanding our creative horizons, making things more economical, and adding a sprinkle of ethical goodness. These game-changing printing technologies are giving people the creative freedom to design their dream ring, even if they have little to no experience in jewelry design. Truly, the only limitations now are your imagination and perhaps the laws of physics. But mostly, your imagination.Intrigued by this bejeweled revolution? And the Oscar for Biggest Jewelry Trend goes to the Statement Necklace!
Who wore the statement necklace best at the Oscars? Photo: JIC
Last night's Oscars, as usual, provided lots of jewelry looks! Statement necklaces took home the win for the best and biggest jewelry trend at the star-studded event. Who wore it best?
Statement necklaces with an added dash of bold color ruled the red carpet at last nights Oscars. Gemstone and pearl necklaces were stand outs, and and the looks varied from classic to more edgy. Who do you think work it best?
Focus star Margot Robbie accented her black ensemble with a vintage zipper necklace featuring diamonds and sapphires set in 18K yellow gold (and the zipper is fully functional!)
Actress Scarlett Johansson clearly wasn't afraid of being too matchy-matchy with her all green look. She paired a dramatic emerald necklace with her emerald gown that was only further accentuated by her Piaget emerald, tourmaline, aquamarine and diamond ear cuff set.
How to Get Away with Murder Star Viola Davis chose a beautiful pearl and diamond bib statement necklace to add a sophisticated touch to her pale pink Zac Posen gown.
Actress Cate Blanchett let her bright bib statement necklace do all the talking. The turquoise and diamond piece popped against her black ensemble, making it one of the most standout jewels of the night.
We're looking forward to seeing statement necklaces remain as one of the biggest trends on the red carpet!

Get the Golden Globe recap, along with the "look" from Roman Jewelers
You can get the look, too! Laura Prepon stuns in Simon G. Jewelry at the 2015 Golden Globes Awards.
The Jewelry Industry and stylists were tweeting all the jewels and styles from last night's Golden Globes, for those of us that needed more closeups. If you couldn't follow it all, read on to find out about the highlights-diamond fringe earrings and necklaces, diamond statement necklaces, platinum and Simon G.!!!
New Zealand pop star Lorde may have blinded you last night with a massive 100 cts. t.w. platinum and diamond Cleopatra-style bib necklace, as well as seven platinum and colorless diamond rings, but for us in Central Jersey it was Orange Is the New Black’s Laura Prepon who we were most excited about. Why? Because she wore Simon G! Our favorite Designer. All of Prepon's looks are available right now at Roman Jewelers. That was exciting!
Besides that, there was plenty more to see and admire. St. Vincent’s Naomi Watts earned high compliments for the Bulgari diamond-studded snake necklace that seductively slithered into position around her neck, and though may have been criticized for her gown, but she scored points for her bib-style diamond necklace from Simon G. Good Wife nominee Julianna Marguiles, meanwhile, also wore a bib-style diamond necklace, though hers—like Watts’—was from Bulgari.
Diamond fringe earrings, however, were the "It" accessory of the night on celebs like Amal Alamuddin Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, nominee Amy Adams, Kate Beckinsale, nominee Jessica Chastain, and Sienna Miller for proof.
Of course, exceptions from the all-white looks were present—and appreciated. Best Actress in a comedy nominee Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michelle Monaghan, nominated for her work in True Detective both wore lots of color and comedienne Leslie Mann wore stunning emerald slice earrings with boulder opal and diamonds. Nominee Emily Blunt's turquoise and diamond chandelier earrings garnered lots of praise, as did Lupita Nyong’o’s amethyst, peridot, and diamond drops.
Yellow gold had a quiet showing this year--Jennifer Aniston wore black onyx and yellow gold chandelier earrings and Kelly Osbourne had a warm yellow gold jewelry look, too! Next year's Golden Globes will see more yellow--we're certain.
Unforgettable Jewelry Looks from the 2013 Oscars
Photo from John Hardy features Robin Roberts at the Oscars...looking beautiful
The Oscars bring together Hollywood’s elite for an unforgettable evening honoring the best movies of the year. The biggest celebs on the planet arrive at Academy Awards, wearing custom-designed couture gowns and stunning million-dollar jewels that leave us breathless.
Yellow Diamonds are Becoming Some Girl’s Best Friends
The picture is black and white, but the diamond is yellow!
Yellow isn’t always an easy color to wear. But when it comes to diamonds, it is not only easy, but becoming a more popular trend.
Drew Barrymore's Radiant Cut Diamond: Special, Rare, Beautiful
Drew's simply perfect engagement ring features a colorless (D color) radiant-cut diamond that is just under 4 carats on a diamond-covered band. Congratulations to Drew Barrymore and her fiance Drew Kopelman who were just engaged during a 10-day stay in Sun Valley, Idaho. I’m happy for them, but I’m actually congratulating them on their ring choice! It is a unique, lovely setting and a simply perfect diamond color and cut. Drew’s engagement ring features a colorless (D color) radiant-cut diamond that is just under 4 carats on a diamond-covered band. Want to learn about the look and the diamond?
The Radiant Diamond and why the cut is critical
Radiant shape is a bit more rare than some others and recently, at Roman Jewelers, we’ve been getting more and more requests for them because couples like the more “antique” look but also the uniqueness and brilliance of the stone. For maximum brilliance and a optimum diamond fire, a precise cut is crucial for a radiant diamond shape. The perfection of the cut, and thetalent of the diamond cutter creates the heavy reflection and refraction within the stone. An improperly cut diamond will have a lower value and less brilliant appearance that dampens the effect of its unusual shape. Most consumers assume that a proper radiant cut must be square with an equal length-to-width ratio, but in fact many stunning radiant cuts are rectangular; the exact proportions are a matter of personal preference which is why working with a knowledgeable jeweler is key and viewing many similar stones is an important part of the process when selecting this stone. Please do not buy a radiant cut on the internet, it would be doing a huge disservice to the diamond and to the buyer. The modern radiant shape was perfected by Henry Grossbard in 1977 when he successfully blended the geometry of emerald cut with the brilliance of the classic round diamond. A radiant cut is, basically, a hybrid stone that is generally square or rectangular but with slightly cropped corners that contribute to its eye-catching sparkle. Cut is everything in this stone and working with a jeweler that understands Fancy cuts is important to get the best value and diamond that is out there. Radiant cut diamonds are similar to three other familiar diamond shapes: but at the same time, the radiant cut is substantially different from each one and brings its own uniqueness to extraordinary pieces of jewelry. The cropped corners of the radiant cut immediately distinguish it from the sharp princess cut. A closer look, however, reveals that the radiant cut has a more uniform series of facets lending it a smooth sparkle, while princess cut diamonds have a starburst or X-shaped facet pattern. In comparison to the emerald cut, the radiant cut also has a more uniform sparkle. The key to a pristine emerald shape is in the series of diamond cuts that give it a very clear center, while the radiant has reflecting facets throughout the gem. The differences between radiant cut diamonds and Asscher cut diamonds are similar to those between radiant cuts and emerald cuts. The Asscher, too, uses a series of long step cuts to create a uniform series of reflections, while the radiant's sparkle and fire is closer to the brilliance of a round gem with its greater number of smaller facets. Radiant cut gems also have smaller trims on the corners, whereas Asscher cut diamonds have strong trims that give them an almost octagonal shape. Drew’s diamond is also set in a lovely ring. At Roman Jewelers, custom-making a ring like this would be the way to go. An extra special touch, even, would be to take some of the diamonds in the band from an old ring of Mom’s or Grandma’s to combine all that is special about this special time in life.
Things
With the Royal Wedding just days away, the Jewelry Information Center has been keeping the public interested in all things Royal and Jeweled. Royal Families have always understood the importance of jewelry as heirlooms. Here are two of the JIC’s (and our) favorite heirlooms of the British Monarchy.
Granny’s Chips Brooch
Queen Elizabeth affectionately christened the diamonds in the pictured brooch "Granny's Chips" because they were originally owned by her grandmother, Queen Mary. The "chips" are two large, beautiful diamonds: a 94.4-carat pear-cut stone and a 63.60-carat square-cushion cut diamond. Wouldn't we all like to have heirlooms that size?
Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara
The Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara—so named because of the Lovers Knots bows incorporated into the design—was an appropriate gift from Queen Elizabeth to Princess Diana on her wedding day. Its origin dates back to 1914, when Queen Mary commissioned the crown jeweler Garrard to create a copy of a tiara owned by her maternal grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse-Cassel.
Will Kate wear this?
A Royal Ring
For a "Royal Look" we suggest an Oval Sapphire, like this one from Tacori. It's official: Prince William and fiancée Kate Middleton will be married! In true romantic fashion, William proposed with an heirloom ring, none other than the ring his late mother Princess Diana wore.
A stunning Oval Sapphire sits at the center—representing truth, sincerity, and constancy—and is framed with a halo of diamonds. Sapphires have been prized as great gemstones since 800 BC and have been worn by royalty throughout history. King Solomon wore a sapphire ring, and the British Crown Jewels are full of large blue sapphires, the mark of prudent and wise rulers.
Ever since Prince Charles gave Princess Diana a sapphire engagement ring, more couples have adopted this beautiful tradition. Sapphire stands for truth, compatibility, commitment, and mutual understanding. It is a perfect, meaningful choice for engaged couples, and is also recommended for a couple’s 5th or 45th anniversaries.
The sapphire has long been associated with chastity, piety, and repentance. It brings wisdom and truth, increases perception and understanding of justice, helps find peace of mind and serenity, and promotes a life of sincerity—helping preserve one’s innocence while learning life’s truths. Sapphires are also associated with romantic love, representing fidelity and devotion. It is also used in quests to increase faith, hope, and joy, and to keep thoughts pure and heavenly.
